Forbidden Photos of a DR. Above Suspicion, 2021
Taken from my original Fresh Donor series, Forbidden Photos…will transform the first stage of decomposition and push it into stage 4 (advanced decay) / 5 (dry remains/ bone). By mixing photographic and painting techniques with Polaroid instant film. Creating a laboratory setting within the window display, with myself performing as the “Doctor” –who will be experimenting on Polaroids. Each Polaroid presented in the show will be in various stages of decomposition through cutting, injecting, burning, and searing it.
There were over 100 Polaroids that were transformed by my methods and displayed on the walls and windows. Doing this will allow the audience to see them close but behind the protection of the glass. The space will include a table and tools for experimentation, a Doctor outfit, and various print sizes of the scanned Polaroids.
